What Is Car Detailing

What is Car Detailing?

As a general definition for the term car detailing we would suggest ‘it is to meticulously clean, polish and protect all parts of a vehicle from top to bottom, inside and out, using specialist tools and products that would not normally be used by your typical car washer.’

Washing your car is only one part of the process of detailing your car, it may well also involve several other stages:

Snow foaming: to remove stubborn dirt and grime from the exterior of the car, before washing the car to prevent any further damage to paintwork.

Decontamination: using specialist products and tools to remove contamination like tree sap, tar, tram dust and other pollutants that cannot be removed by washing

Paint Analysis: measuring the thickness of the paint and evaluating the condition to see what can be done to enhance or correct it.

Polishing: usually done by a combination of machines to permanently remove the swirls and other marks in the paint.

Protection: applying a wax, sealant or coating to your paint to lock in the shine and help against the elements like sun, rain and road grim.

Engine Clean: to remove all the surface dirt, oil and grime that builds up over time and kms. Then dressing the engine, something very important when selling your car.

Interior Detailing: not only vacuuming the carpets, but fully shampooing them to remove dirt, stains and odours.

Leather Conditioning: to thoroughly clean the car leather and then condition it to help protect against drying out, cracking and deterioration.

Therefore a Car Detail is much, much more than a car wash – it involves a lot more time, expertise and products to fully develop the potential of a car, Mr Detail has been focusing on car detailing and car presentation for over 15 years whether it is a detail to prepare your car for sale quickly, or a complete transformation for a super or show car, we focus on the details.
